OCALA — A Motorcyclist was pronounced deceased after a collision in Ocala near the intersection of County Road 25A and NW 111th Place according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
Troopers stated that at approximately 1:30 p.m. Thursday, 30-year-old Julissa Tuggle was traveling northbound on CR 25A in a 2002 Toyota Camry as she came up to the intersection at NW 111th Place.
Tuggle told troopers that she did not see the motorcycle as it traveled southbound on CR 25A. According to the report, Tuggle proceeded to turn onto NW 111th Place crossing directly into the path of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle, a 2003 Harley Davidson driven by 66-year-old George McGee hit his brakes but was unable to avoid a collision. Mcgee’s motorcycle struck the Camry at which time McGee was ejected from his motorcycle.
Responders from the Marion County Fire Rescue team pronounced McGee deceased at the scene at 1:42 p.m. due to injuries sustained during the collision.
According to the report, McGee was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. Tuggle was wearing her seatbelt and she suffered minor injuries.
Tuggle was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center for further evaluation.
It is unknown at this time if any alcohol was involved.
