BUSHNELL, Fla. – A North Carolina man was killed Sunday morning just after midnight when he was struck by a vehicle as he walked down Interstate 75 according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.
Troopers stated that 33-year-old Daniel Joseph Birner was walking in the outside right lane northbound on I-75 at approximately 12:17 a.m. when he was struck by a 2008 Toyota Camry driven by 24-year-old Joshua Seerman of Leesburg.
Seerman was traveling in the outside northbound lane and was unable to see Birner due to the time of night when the incident occurred.
Birner was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, no charges are being filed at this time.
