MINNEOLA, Fla. — An Ocala man was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident on the Florida Turnpike Friday morning according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.
Troopers responded to mile marker 283 on the Florida Turnpike approximately three miles south of the US Highway 27 exit at approximately 4:50 a.m. after receiving calls about a vehicle that had overturned.
When troopers arrived, they found 24-year-old Adam Wilson pinned under his 2017 Hyundai Sonata motionless.
According to the report released by troopers, Wilson was traveling northbound on the Turnpike when for an unknown reason his vehicle left the paved portion of the road. Wilson attempted to correct his path, however, ended up overcorrecting and losing control of the vehicle.
The vehicle then overturned and Wilson was partially ejected from his car and pinned underneath it.

The crash is still currently under investigation and troopers are waiting on the results of a blood-alcohol test to determine if the crash is alcohol-related.
