OCALA – An Ocala man was pronounced dead after being struck by a vehicle while he was walking according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.
The incident occurred Tuesday night at approximately 9:50 pm on Cedar Trace.
According to the report, 62-year-old Noel Arocho was walking eastbound on Cedar Trace in the eastbound lane when a 1994 Ford Ranger pickup truck came around the curve heading westbound. The driver of the pickup, whose name is being withheld due to his age, veered into the eastbound lane while coming around the curve just before Cedar Trace Run.
Arocho was struck with the front left side of the pickup truck and landed on the grassy shoulder.
Arocho was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead due to injuries sustained from the accident.
An investigation is still ongoing and charges are pending.
