Man Pronounced Dead in Inverness Off-Road Accident

Inverness, Fla. – A Tampa man was pronounced dead after an off-road accident in the Citrus Wildlife Management Area Saturday afternoon at approximately 5:00 p.m. according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.

According to the report, 43-year-old Nicholas James Roush was traveling southbound near Trail 13 in a 2015 Jeep Wrangler.

Roush and his passenger, 27-year-old Mackenzie Lee Hill, were off-roading in the woods in a dried pond when Roush lost control of the Jeep causing it to overturn.

At the time of the accident, Roush was not wearing his seatbelt.

He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after emergency medical services arrived.

Hill, who was wearing her seatbelt had no injuries.
