MOUNT DORA, Fla. – Lake County Deputies responded to a 911 call in reference to a shooting in Mount Dora hours after a previous shooting at Wal-Mart according to a press release.
Deputies received the call around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning and were dispatched near the 2000 block of Sheridan Road in Mount Dora.
Upon arrival, deputies located two men who were suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims found in a vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
One victim, a 21-year-old Orlando man was found in a vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other victim was transported to Orland Regional Medical Center where he is undergoing surgery as a result of his injuries.
According to Lake County Sheriff’s Office spokesman James Vachon, officials believe the shooting was related to a rave party that was held at a nearby plaza.
Deputies working security at the party estimated there to be between 500 to 1,000 guests at the party.
According to the report, most of the guests at the party were bussed in from Orlando and other areas of Orange County.
Deputies also discovered that the vehicle the deceased victim was located in was reported stolen out of Tampa.
Lake County deputies and Tampa Police are working together to gather details on the theft of the vehicle.
Mount Dora Police Spokeswoman Lisa McDonald stated in a release Saturday morning that police do not believe this shooting is related to the earlier shooting at the Wal-Mart located on US Highway 441 in Mount Doar.
The victims’ identities have not yet been released pending next of kin notification.
Detectives are still investigating the incident and are asking anyone with information to contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
