CLERMONT – An Orlando man was arrested Tuesday night in connection with a Lake County murder according to Lake County Sheriff’s Department spokesman, Sgt. Fred Jones.
The arrest was triggered after Lake County deputies issued a warrant for 34-year-old Ivan Enrique-Figueroa-Serrano in connection with a murder investigation in Clermont.
A man flagged down deputies while on patrol in Clermont near North Bradshaw Road late Monday night and told deputies that he and his friend had just been carjacked and that his friend was in the trunk of the vehicle.
After searching for the vehicle, deputies found the car engulfed in flames. Once firefighters put out the flames, the man’s friend was found in the trunk of the vehicle.
The victim in the trunk was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
During their investigation, deputies were led to believe Enrique-Figueroa-Serrano was a viable suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest.
Enrique-Figueroa-Serrano was arrested in Orlando and booked into the Orange County Jail where he is being held without bond on a felony murder charge.
