CLERMONT — The Pasfinders of South Lake County, an organization built on helping teach people the science of genealogy, will host their Mid-Winter Geneology Conference at the Cooper Memorial Library located at 2525 Oakley Seaver Drive in Clermont from Friday, February 2nd to Saturday, February 3rd.
The conference is open to anyone who would like to attend at no cost.
During the conference, attendees will learn about Geneology, important tools for genealogical research, and more.
Seating for the conference is limited so anyone interested in attending is asked to confirm their attendance by emailing their Name, Address, Phone number, and whether or not they are a member or a Genealogical Society to Jody Close at jclose@cfl.rr.com to reserve their spot.
The organization will hold two sessions, the first on Friday from 9 a.m. until 12 noon in Computer Labs A and B, which will be “Resources you should be using but probably forgot”, presented by Jack Butler, and “Navigating INS naturalization Records”.
The second session on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 12 noon in Room 108 A and B will host “The everyday life of our ancestors: clues to researching their real lives, presented by C. Ann Staley, and “What songs were your ancestors singing?: A multifaceted timeline to understand their life”, presented by Dr. Jennifer Jut and Ron Snell.
Attendees will be given the opportunity to take home a conference workbook, complete with class notes for a small $5 donation.
