Police Search for Suspects in Dollar General Attempted Robbery

LEESBURG, Fla. – Leesburg Police officers are searching for two suspects who attempted to rob the Dollar General located on Palmetto Street late Monday night according to Lt. Joe Iozzi.

Iozzi stated that a white male and white female entered the store Monday night with knives and wearing “some type of cloth” over their faces.

Both suspects fled the store after a store clerk told them she could not open the register.

Officers attempted to locate the suspects with the help of K9 officers but were unsuccessful.

The male suspect was described as wearing long pants, a black t-shirt, and black baseball cap. The female suspect was described as wearing long pants and a white hoodie sweatshirt with the numbers “24” printed on the back and “Slayin It” printed on the front.

Detectives are still investigating the incident and are asking anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the suspects to contact the Leesburg Police Department.
