Remains of Toddler Found After Alligator Attack at Disney Grand Floridian

Orland0 – The search for the toddler who was dragged into the water by an alligator at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa came to a sad end. Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings announced that earlier today around 3:30 p.m., search and recovery teams recovered the remains of the 2-year-old boy.

The boy, identified as Lane Graves, was the son of Matt and Melissa Graves from Elkhorn, Nebraska.

Search and recovery divers found the boy’s body completely intact about 10 yards from shore.

The Nebraska family was sitting near the water after a hotel-sponsored movie ended when the attack happened. Matt Graves tried to pry his son from the gator’s jaws but was unsuccessful.

There were no signs around the lagoon that warned of an alligator presence. The only signs present, where ‘No Swimming’ signs.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department, along with the Florid Wildlife Commission is conduction an investigation. Disney officials have been cooperating with officials since the incident occurred.
