Residents are invited to discuss parks, trails and recreation during public meeting in Tavares

TAVARES — The Lake County Parks & Trails Division is inviting the public to a meeting to provide input on future parks, recreation and trails in Lake County. The workshop will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at the Lake County Extension Center, 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares.

Lake County Parks & Trails is in the process of updating its comprehensive master plan, which will be used as an overall guide to the development and operation of Parks & Trails facilities offering active and passive recreation, paved trails and boat ramps over the next decade.

All residents, including those living in municipalities and unincorporated areas of the county, are invited to attend to learn about the master planning process and share their vision for the future of recreation in Lake County.

Persons with disabilities who need assistance to participate in this public meeting should contact the Parks & Trails Division at 352-253-4950 at least eight hours in advance of the scheduled meeting.

Residents are also encouraged to share their input via a brief online survey: www.surveymonkey.com/r/LakeCountyCommSurvey.
