CLERMONT, Fla. – Police have arrested a second suspect in the June shooting death of a man at an apartment complex.
Clermont police issued a statement Tuesday that read Amber Crystal Weaver, 20, of Groveland, was arrested Friday in the murder of Ronald Stedelin, after she was accused of helping Shaftney McMullen, the alleged gunman, flee the scene and hide from police in the days following the murder.
Weaver was charged with accessory after the fact and remained in Lake County jail Tuesday evening without bail.
Stedelin, 30, was found about 2:30 a.m. June 11 behind his vehicle at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Disston Avenue with a single gunshot wound to his head. He died at the site.
McMullen was arrested in the latter part of June on drug charges, but murder charges in the Stedelin case were soon added. McMullen has remained in the same jail without bail since his arrest.
Clermont had initially identified Weaver and McMullen as persons of interest in the case.
