OCALA – An Ocala home located in the Silver Springs Shores area is a total loss after a fire consumed the 2,000 square foot residence.
According to Marion County Fire Rescue, responders were dispatched to 39 Red Wood Road in the Silver Springs Shores area of Ocala at 10:44 am Wednesday morning.
Firefighters from Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) Silver Springs Shores Station 17 arrived on the scene at 10:51 am to find the 2,000 square foot log cabin style home completely enveloped in flames.
Additional units from MCFR Operations Station 33, Rolling Greens Station 28, Shady Station 16, and Summerfield Station 30 arrived and assisted with a defensive attack against the fire.
Responders worked hard to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to neighboring homes and buildings.
According to Marion County Fire Rescue, the blaze was called under control at 11:38 am.
There were no injuries reported to either firefighters or civilians.
The scene is currently under investigation by the Florida State FirMarshall’s’s Office and the cause is still unknown.
