Police Search For Man Who Robbed Stavros Employee at Gunpoint

LEESBURG – Leesburg Police are searching for a man who they say robbed two employees as they were leaving from their shift at Stavro’s Pizza House on 14th Street around 9:00 pm Wednesday night.

According to the report, the employee was leaving Stavro’s along with her grandmother when a man, described as a thin black male, approached the two victims asking for change.

The victims told officers that they gave the man $2 at which time he pulled a black semi-automatic handgun from a bag and demanded that the victim hand over her purse.

During that time, the suspect allegedly shot one round into the air.

The victim handed over her purse which contained an undisclosed amount of cash.

Stavro’s Pizza House owner, Nicholas P. Bitsios told officers that he heard the two women screaming and came out to see the suspect fleeing the scene heading behind Krystal’s and the Boost Mobile store.

Once on scene, police were unable to locate the suspect.
