Street Performers Needed for Eustis Busker Festival

Eustis The City of Eustis is looking for performers for its second annual Eustis Busker Festival scheduled for Saturday, April 8, 2017. Performers from all over the US will showcase their talents as street performers, or “buskers,” during the free, family-friendly day-long event.

Acts will include musicians, comedians, artists, acrobats, living statues, mimes, and more. Performers can be seen in Downtown Eustis from 9 a.m to 4 p.m at “busk stops.” Each “busker” will perform two 30-minute acts during the day. Judges will rate each act. The top performers will be invited to the Grand Finale at 6:30 p.m at the Bandshell stage in Ferran Park.

Each division’s top act will perform and compete against other top acts. Prizes include a $5,000 Grand Prize, a $1,500 People’s Choice prize, $1,000 for second place, $750 for third place, $200 divisional prizes, and a $500 wild card prize.

Any buskers traveling a long distance to the event and utilizing local lodgings will be given stipends. Confirmation of lodging must be presented at event check-in. Stipend amounts are $100 for those traveling from out of state and $50 for performers coming in from outside the Lake County and surrounding areas. Those ineligible for any stipend include performers from Lake, Volusia, Sumter, Marion, Polk, Seminole, and Orange counties. Stipends are given out per entry, not per person.

Applications and a list of rules and regulations can be found at the City’s website. Applications must include a video or link to a video and will be accepted through March 29, 2017.

There is no charge for participant entry.
