BUSHNELL – Detectives are searching for a vehicle believed to have been used in the burglary of two homes in Oak Hill according to a Facebook post by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
The first burglary occurred at one Oak Hill home located off of County Roads 243 and 243B on October 25th between 1:00 pm and 2:15 pm.
A witness told detectives they observed a black Dodge Challenger parked at the residence during the time of the burglary.
The witness also told detectives that a thin black male was seen walking away from the front door of the home. The man is described as being approximately 5’10” tall and weighing between 180-200 pounds.
The second burglary occurred on November 1st at approximately 12:36 pm. In this incident, Deputies responded to a call from the alarm company of the Oak Hill home located off of County Road 243F.
Deputies arrived on scene to find the front door had been forced open.
Although there was no information on a suspect for the second burglary, detectives believe the same suspect is responsible for both burglaries considering the same time of day and neighborhood. In both cases, jewelry was stolen from the homes. In the first burglary, other items were stolen as well.

Detectives have released a photo taken from a nearby surveillance video believed to be the one used by the suspect.
