LADY LAKE — Sumter County Detectives are seeking help in identifying and locating two suspects who reportedly left the Lady Lake Lowe’s Home Improvement store with over $1,000 in merchandise without paying.
According to a post on the Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page, one of the suspects who was wearing an orange shirt and khaki shorts and had a tattoo on his right shoulder used bolt cutters to cut through some cables holding display items and placed three nail guns into a bag which he also took from off of a shelf in the store.
Video surveillance footage shows the suspect walk out of the store while another suspect, pictured in a blue shirt, distracted the cashier.
A loss prevention officer at the store confronted the suspects in the parking lot but was unable to apprehend them at the time, according to police.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the suspects identity or whereabouts to contact Detective Torchia at (352) 569-1614 or they can report it anonymously by calling Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
