Sumter County Returns to Normal Operations Friday Afternoon

SUMTER COUNTY – According to the National Weather Service, the Tropical Storm Warning has been lifted for Sumter County. Sumter County officials announced that they have changed their emergency status to Level 3 – monitoring.

According to a post on the Sumter County Sheriff’s Facebook page, officials have stopped distributing sandbags and all shelters have been deactivated.

Government offices and schools will also return to normal operations beginning Monday morning.

Some damage was reported around Sumter County and officials are asking residents to continue to be vigilant for downed wires and large branches.
