LADY LAKE, Fla. — Sumter County Deputies are searching for a suspect involved in the armed robbery of a Lady Lake internet cafe in the early hours of Monday morning.
According to reports, the suspected entered Flip Flops internet cafe located at 13741 N. US 441 in Lady Lake at approximately 2:40 a.m. Monday morning with a semi-automatic handgun and pointed the firearm at the two clerks behind the counter demanding money.
Video surveillance footage shows what appears to be a black heavy-set female enter the building with the firearm and make her way behind the counter where she grabs a handful of money from the counter and makes her way back out.
According to police, an armed security guard working at the establishment believes he shot the suspect after he fired two rounds at the suspect. The suspect then dropped the money and fled into a nearby vehicle that was waiting for her.
