Suspicion Surrounds Lady Lake Woman and WalMart Shooting Suspects

LEESBURG – The facts surrounding a Lady Lake woman and the vehicle used in a fatal shooting at WalMart show a suspicious series of circumstances.

Dawn Marie Morris was reported missing from The Villages earlier this month. She was last seen driving a red 2011 Toyota Camry with a handicap license plate.

Morris was found sleeping in a parking lot in Boynton Beach on September 14th. According to Boynton Beach Police, there was some indication of drug use when Morris was found. When she was found, Morris did not have the vehicle she was last seen in.

On September 19th, a vehicle matching the same description bearing the same license plate was spotted during a shooting at the WalMart in Leesburg. Police received 911 calls at approximately 7:15 pm reporting that a man opened fire on another man killing him in the parking lot in what appears to be a drug-related incident. According to Lake County Deputies, the suspect was seen fleeing the scene in the same vehicle.

That vehicle was reported stolen the same night of the shooting. A report was filed with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office at 8:59pm on September 19th, almost two hours after the shooting occurred in Leesburg.

According to Lt. Galvin of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Morris reported that the vehicle was stolen after she advertised massage services on a local ad posting site and went to meet with a client.
