Tavares Police Hold Breast Cancer Fundraiser in Honor of Officer

TAVARES — October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, the Tavares Police Department added a new fundraiser to their list.

“It all started a few years back, We lost one of our own, Corporal Paula Crow,” Said Sargent Sarah Courey.

Coursey told Central Florida Wire that over the last several years they have been putting pink ribbons, and stripes on their patrol cars. This year her, and Sgt. Ami Reynolds came up with the idea to have the T-Shirts made. She also stated that Corporal Jason Ball and his wife designed the T-Shirts.

“We just purchased a few and planned to sell them on Facebook. Didn’t know what kind of turn out we would get. We ended up selling out within 3 days and had to order more. It’s just been a really positive outcome.” said Coursey

The shirts can be purchased at the Tavares Police Department, located on 201 E. Main St in Tavares.

T-shirts are $25 for Adult sizes and $20 for Youth, they only accept Cash or Check. Call ahead to make sure they are still available.
