{"id":209629,"date":"2016-09-17T13:44:15","date_gmt":"2016-09-17T17:44:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress-1.tempurl.host\/?p=209629"},"modified":"2017-11-04T15:11:56","modified_gmt":"2017-11-04T19:11:56","slug":"ocala-police-chief-accused-sexual-harassment-female-officers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thegraphicgeek.com\/demo-cflwire\/ocala-police-chief-accused-sexual-harassment-female-officers\/","title":{"rendered":"Ocala Police Chief Accused of Sexual Harassment by Female Officers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A formal <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Grievance\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Grievance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">grievance<\/a> was filed on Thursday against \u00a0<a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Ocala, Florida\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=29.187704,-82.130613&amp;spn=0.1,0.1&amp;q=29.187704,-82.130613 (Ocala%2C%20Florida)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Ocala<\/a> <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Chief of police\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chief_of_police\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Chief of Police<\/a> Kenneth Gregory Graham of behalf of three female <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Oakland Police Department\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Oakland_Police_Department\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">OPD<\/a> officers.<\/p>\n<p>The grievance, filed by the Law Office of Bobi J. Frank, <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Pennsylvania\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=41.0,-77.5&amp;spn=3.0,3.0&amp;q=41.0,-77.5 (Pennsylvania)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">PA<\/a> states that the three female officers suffered unwelcome <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Sexual abuse\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sexual_abuse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">sexual<\/a> advances and unwelcome verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature from Chief Graham. The grievance also alleges abuse of power toward both male and female officers who did not follow Chief Graham&#8217;s ideologies, and the protection of other officers who abused their power.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint included <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Allegation\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Allegation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">allegations<\/a> from a number of witnesses and alleged victims, stating that Chief Graham had repeatedly engaged in conversations of a sexual nature, both on and off duty. Alleged incidents reported in the grievance included<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Repeated unprofessional comments of a sexual nature against an openly <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Lesbian\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lesbian\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">gay female<\/a> <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Officer (armed forces)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Officer_%28armed_forces%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">officer<\/a>, \u00a0including \u00a0remarks about the \u00a0attractiveness of women she dated, concern that she may make advances to his wife or daughter, and the suggestion that they share a bathroom stall and that the female officer would use the urinal. The officer also alleged that the Chief had grabbed her phone on several occasions and made inappropriate remarks to her dates.<\/li>\n<li>Repeated inappropriate behavior at professional social gatherings that included asking women to compare their breasts, playing a game called &#8220;Never Have I Ever&#8221; in which questions are asked of a sexual nature to female officers, and at one such gathering forcing a female officer&#8217;s head into his lap.<\/li>\n<li>Harassing female officers in an attempt to get their private cell phone numbers. \u00a0The grievance states that phone records will prove that the Chief harassed several women via cell phone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the grievance alleges that Chief Graham allowed a black officer with a 9-year spotless record to be harassed and bullied by other officers because he is black, and that the Chief allowed a number of \u00a0other officers to interfere in investigations in an unprofessional manner during several <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Domestic violence\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Domestic_violence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">domestic violence<\/a> calls.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Graham reportedly denied all the allegations in an email to the Ocala Post, saying that his attorney would be handling any further response.
