The Marion County Sheriff’s Office<\/a> is asking the public for any information surrounding the suspicious death of an Ocala<\/a> man after he attacked several people \u00a0at a local residence.<\/p>\n

Just before 4:30 Saturday morning<\/a> the Marion County Communication Center reported receiving a call for assistance due to a disturbance at 2095 NE 45th St. in Ocala. \u00a0When officers arrived they found a naked man being held down by another male in a bedroom of the residence. Deputies reported that the subject was unresponsive at the time. \u00a0The man was shortly identified as \u00a041-year old James Raines, of Ocala. \u00a0MSCO reported that first aid was administered and Raines was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.<\/p>\n

Two women and a man at the home reported that Raines \u00a0burst into the home naked and without permission, and attacked the occupants. Officers noted that one of the females at the home had a bite mark on her arm. \u00a0The occupants said that they defended themselves and subdued Raines, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Officers then went to Raines’ address and found a female there who they reported was also under the influence of a substance and required medical treatment.<\/p>\n

The MCSO Major Crimes<\/a> Unit is actively investigating the incident. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 352-732-9111<\/p>\n
