The Marion County Sheriff’s Office<\/a> has issued a Community Alert after a juvenile was approached by a stranger in a pickup truck<\/a>\u00a0on September 22nd while walking home from school.<\/p>\n

MCSO \u00a0reports that the young male was approached \u00a0while walking home from the bus stop<\/a> in Lake Tropicana, when a man in a white 1990s model pickup truck pulled up next to him and ordered him to “Get in the truck.” \u00a0The driver<\/a> was reported to be a white male<\/a> approximately in his 40s with a brown jawline beard and medium length curly brown<\/a> hair. The truck was reported to have camouflage seat covers and a sticker on the back driver’s side window depicting a deer.<\/p>\n

The MCSO is asking citizens to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings, especially in Southwest Marion County, and to remind children what to do should they be approached by a stranger. MSCO recommends the method they call “No-Go-Yell<\/a>-Tell”, meaning they should tell the \u00a0stranger “No” , run away, yell as loud as they can, and tell a trusted adult about the incident.<\/p>\n
