LEESBURG –<\/strong> With today’s contentious political climate, residents can celebrate Presidents’ Day, whether a Re’pup’lican, Demo’cat’, or somewhere in between, by opening their home to a new friend who will not care what is posted on social media, and who will never argue about politics.<\/p>\n

Potential adopters are invited to meet shelter animals and fall in love at “Paws Over Politics,” from\u00a011 a.m.-3 p.m.<\/span>\u00a0onSaturday, Feb. 18 and Sunday, Feb. 19<\/span> at the PetSmart store located at the Via Port Florida Mall, 10401 U.S. Highway 441 in Leesburg.\u00a0L.E.A.S.H., Inc. has been awarded a grant from PetSmart Charities to fund this large-scale\u00a0adoption\u00a0event for PetSmart’s\u00a0National\u00a0Adoption\u00a0Weekend.<\/p>\n

All the animals that will be available for\u00a0adoption\u00a0at the event come from the Lake County Animal Shelter. Each pet is spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and waiting for a family to call its own. The\u00a0adoption\u00a0fee of $10 includes a lifetime of friendship.<\/p>\n

“We are always looking for different approaches to assist the shelter in increasing adoptions,” said Whitney Boylston, president and founder of L.E.A.S.H., Inc. “We are fortunate to have the opportunity to host this event, with the support of PetSmart Charities. Anyone looking for a new friend should consider\u00a0adoption.”<\/p>\n

L.E.A.S.H., Inc. shelter support programs include heartworm treatment and other medical sponsorships, enrichment activities, facility improvements,\u00a0adoption\u00a0promotion, trap-neuter-return, and recruitment of volunteers and fosters.L.E.A.S.H., Inc., is a non-profit agency based in Lake County that directly benefits shelter animals in need. The mission of the organization includes supporting life-saving projects and programs to assist the local shelter in increasing the live\u00a0release\u00a0rate.<\/p>\n
