{"id":214690,"date":"2017-08-09T12:10:26","date_gmt":"2017-08-09T16:10:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress-1.tempurl.host\/?p=214690"},"modified":"2017-11-04T14:47:12","modified_gmt":"2017-11-04T18:47:12","slug":"tavares-man-charged-dui-manslaughter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thegraphicgeek.com\/demo-cflwire\/tavares-man-charged-dui-manslaughter\/","title":{"rendered":"Tavares man charged with DUI manslaughter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">TAVARES \u2013 An 81-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday morning on a DUI manslaughter charge stemming from a fatal motorcycle crash in Tavares earlier this year. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">A test came back this week reportedly showed the alcohol content level of James Hubert Osburn almost twice the legal limit, according to a probable cause affidavit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">Osburn, of Tavares, remained in the Lake County jail late Wednesday morning in lieu of $30,000 bail in the death of Gregory Brant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">A bottle of Fireball liquor reportedly also was found in Osburn\u2019s vehicle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">The crash occurred sometime before 3:30 p.m. on March 12 on Flagship Avenue and State Road 19 in Tavares.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">According to the affidavit, Brant was riding his motorcycle north on S.R. 19 as Osburn was traveling south. Osburn made a left turn, but into the path of Brant. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">Brant struck Osburn\u2019s passenger door and later died at Florida Hospital Waterman.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">The affidavit adds Tavares police responding to the crash found Osburn in his vehicle trying to hide the bottle of alcohol behind his passenger seat.
