{"id":215204,"date":"2017-09-05T10:14:14","date_gmt":"2017-09-05T14:14:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress-1.tempurl.host\/?p=215204"},"modified":"2017-11-04T14:47:09","modified_gmt":"2017-11-04T18:47:09","slug":"county-seeks-grant-applicants-emergency-food-shelter-programs-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thegraphicgeek.com\/demo-cflwire\/county-seeks-grant-applicants-emergency-food-shelter-programs-2\/","title":{"rendered":"County Seeks Grant Applicants for Emergency Food and Shelter Programs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>TAVARES, Fla.<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Qualifying emergency food and shelter programs run by local service agencies are urged to apply for $32,671 in federal funds awarded to Lake County through the Department of Homeland Security\/FEMA under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program.<\/p>\n<p>A local board made up of representatives from county government, United Way, the Salvation Army, and American Red Cross, as well as advocates for the homeless, faith-based organizations and community partners, will determine how the funds will be distributed.<\/p>\n<p>Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a private voluntary nonprofit or unit of government<\/li>\n<li>Have a voluntary board established and be eligible to receive federal funds is a private voluntary organization<\/li>\n<li>Have an accounting system<\/li>\n<li>Practice non-discrimination<\/li>\n<li>Have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and \/or shelter programs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lake County has distributed emergency food and shelter funds previously with various organizations throughout the county, providing more than 36,900 meals and assisting 235 individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Public or private voluntary agencies interested in applying for Emergency Food and Shelter Program funds may contact Stephanie Glass at\u00a0<a href=\"tel:(352)%20742-6520\">352-742-6520<\/a>\u00a0or download an application online at<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lakecountyfl.gov\/departments\/community_services\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.lakecountyfl.gov\/departments\/community_services&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1504707021299000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFPMC4OmZ7EsMOqccqpvZiJH8XHdg\">www.lakecountyfl.gov\/departments\/community_services<\/a>.
