{"id":219645,"date":"2018-07-23T07:36:59","date_gmt":"2018-07-23T11:36:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress-1.tempurl.host\/?p=219645"},"modified":"2018-07-23T00:42:04","modified_gmt":"2018-07-23T04:42:04","slug":"lake-county-seeks-grant-applicants-for-emergency-food-and-shelter-programs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thegraphicgeek.com\/demo-cflwire\/lake-county-seeks-grant-applicants-for-emergency-food-and-shelter-programs\/","title":{"rendered":"Lake County seeks grant applicants for emergency food and shelter programs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>TAVARES, Fla. <\/strong>&#8212;\u00a0Qualifying emergency food and shelter programs run by local service agencies are encouraged to apply for $33,276 in federal funds awarded to Lake County through the Department of Homeland Security\/FEMA under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A local board made up of representatives from county government, United Way, the Salvation Army, The American Red Cross and advocates for the homeless, faith-based organizations and community partners will determine how the funds will be distributed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be a private voluntary nonprofit\/organization or unit of government<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have a voluntary board established and be eligible to receive federal funds<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have an accounting system<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Practice nondiscrimination<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and\/or shelter programs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lake County has distributed emergency food and shelter funds to various organizations throughout the county, providing thousands of meals and assisting hundreds of individuals and families.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Public or private voluntary agencies interested in applying for Emergency Food and Shelter Program funds may contact Stephanie Glass at 352-742-6519 or download an application online at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lakecountyfl.gov\/departments\/community_services\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.lakecountyfl.gov\/departments\/community_services&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1532406971827000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEQGV6-VI6MUKhpIjZ57MeKjLby9g\">www.lakecountyfl.gov\/departments\/community_services<\/a>.
