Slicers Take Win Against Wolves in Semifinals
LaPorte Slicers take home sectional win, 14-10 against Michigan City Wolves in Friday night’s Class 5A Sectional 9 Semifinals.
The Michigan City Wolves’ hopes of defeating and repeating as sectional football champions came to a sudden halt as they dropped their sectional opener to rival LaPorte, 14-10.
After falling behind 7-0 early in the opening quarter, the Wolves battled back in the second half, scoring 10 unanswered points to build a 10-7 advantage.
The lead was erased by the Slicers after a City turnover late in the final period led to a LaPorte touchdown and a 14-10 lead.
A final push by the Wolves fell short and LaPorte ran out the clock for the sectional crown.
