{"id":1877,"date":"2018-02-09T20:35:05","date_gmt":"2018-02-10T02:35:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mcjournal.thegraphicgeek.com\/?p=1877"},"modified":"2018-06-05T15:54:17","modified_gmt":"2018-06-05T20:54:17","slug":"police-search-trucker-suspect-hit-run-left-two-hospitalized","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thegraphicgeek.com\/demo-mcj\/police-search-trucker-suspect-hit-run-left-two-hospitalized\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Search for Trucker as Suspect in Hit-and-Run that Left Two Hospitalized"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Officers from the Michigan City Police Department are seeking help in locating a trucker who was involved in a hit-and-run crash on Tuesday, February 6.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, the victims of the crash were traveling southbound on Hitchcock Street coming up on the intersection of U.S. Highway 20 when they were struck by a semi-truck.<\/p>\n<p>Responders arrived at the scene at approximately 12:59 p.m. and found a heavily damaged SUV with the two victims still trapped inside.<\/p>\n<p>During their investigation, officers discovered that the semi-truck was traveling westbound on Highway 20 when it failed to stop at a traffic light and struck the vehicle. The driver of the truck did not stop or render aid to the victims and continued driving westbound.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan City Police and Porter County Deputies searched the area for a truck matching the description given by witnesses but were unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p>The truck is described as a blue or teal-blue semi-tractor pulling an enclosed tractor-trailer.<\/p>\n<p>Both victims from the vehicle were extricated and transported to St. Anthony Hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The victims have not been identified.<\/p>\n<p>The department is asking anyone with any additional information is asked to contact Lt.
