The 2018 Chicago Auto Show public opening day was much easier to browse this year than previous years due to winter storm Mateo dumping 10″ of heavy snow in the area.<\/p>\n

This allowed plenty of opportunities to take great pictures of the many displays throughout the show. Jeep has one of the largest exhibits\u00a0and created the most detailed arrangements.<\/p>\n

There were fewer concept vehicles and more brand staples on feature displays. The common theme this year for car manufacturers are new features and packages. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon package (pictured below) blended standard and concept (vented doors) features.<\/p>\n

One feature that stood out was GM adding Super Cruise\u2122<\/a> to their Cadillac brand. “Cadillac is setting new industry standards with ground-breaking driver assistance technologies like Super Cruise.” – Johan de Nysschen, Cadillac President –<\/p>\n

This was exclusively featured on their CT6 model (see CT6 gallery below) and offers autonomous driving on limited access highways. Cadillac representatives at the show stated it is “the industry’s first truly hands-free driving technology.” It uses GPS, radar, and cameras to control acceleration, steering, and braking for the driver when enabled.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
